Drassman Designs

Posted by michael On May - 2 - 200739 COMMENTS

Drassman emerged onto the local club scene with his immediately recognisable illustrations and event posters.

Proficient with most media, his early beginnings with watercolour and ink eventually graduated to digital art. His style remains flexible, ranging from comic book graphics to photorealism.

Best recognised for the art for the Perth Destination? gigs and the Cottesloe Beach Hotel, his work can also been seen in Sydney, Melbourne and overseas.

His art remains fun, occasionally tongue-in-cheek and ever evolving.

When not scouring the social scene for his next muse, he can be found either sipping lychee martinis or saving the world.

Stormie Mills

Posted by admin On September - 1 - 200611 COMMENTS

Since launching his career as an proscribed visual artist in 1984, Mills has carved a distinctive niche for his work that has seen him showcased internationally to critical acclaim. His work has crossed many boundaries with representation in exhibitions in London, Birmingham , Berlin, Los Angeles, Melbourne and Perth.

His solo exhibitions held in Perth in 1999 and 2003 were hugely successful with both shows selling out on opening night and resulting in numerous private commissions. In 2002 he achieved a Commendation Award in the highly competitive “City of Perth Invitational Art Award” and in May 2005 was invited to London as a guest speak at the London Institute of Contemporary Arts to launch the Thames & Hudson publication “Graffiti World”. Late in 2006 he will present works in Tokyo and Taipei before returning to his third solo show in Perth in May 2007 followed by another in Melbourne in July of the same year.

He has been commissioned to create works in both Los Angles and London and in 2002 was invited to create large scale murals across Greece in preparation for the Olympics.

Mills’ work is a deeply personal narrative about emotions captured in the layers of his works, depictions from intense observations of the texture of life to engage and challenge the viewer to explore beyond the surface to find real beauty amidst the decay.

Justin Randall

Posted by admin On August - 28 - 2006139 COMMENTS

Justin Randall spends his days at Curtin University lecturing about Digital Illustration and his nights in a studio actually doing it. You can find his work in the odd magazine and the occasional comic book. Currently he is working on a few graphic novels for offshore publishers and will soon release his own project titled ‘Changing Ways’.

He doesn’t sleep much, prefers listening to movies rather than music and can be a right bastard when he has a looming deadline.
